There are many couples who will combine their wedding with travel. They will choose a special location to say their vows and have photos from an exotic place. Some of these weddings have themes or a certain style that the couple chose because it means something to them.

This type of wedding is happening more and more often as couples are forgoing the traditional type of wedding and having their ceremony in a special location. There are extreme weddings where the couples get hitched while skydiving, while underwater for a scuba wedding and believe it or not, while bungee jumping.

Beach weddings are very popular with the turquoise waters and everyone is barefoot. If you want an island wedding you might want to check out Caribbean islands or those in the Indian Ocean. Even if you are only looking for a vacation and not a ceremony, Seychelles Holidays is where you can find luxury hotels and villas to stay on white sand beaches and near warm clear waters. The choice is all up to you and you have many destinations to choose from. Why not make the most of your special day by planning your wedding on a remote island.

Nearly every temperate region in the world that has mountains will have ski resorts of some kind or another. Even some flatlands will have mounds and hills and if there is snow, there will be people with their saucers, sleds and skis. Throughout the world there are ski areas of international acclaim and skiers flock from a round the planet to challenge the mountains.

Two famous ski resorts in America are Aspen and Vail, Colorado. Aspen is well known as a harbor for the rich and famous and is populated in the winter by business moguls, movie stars and even royalty. Aspen has 46 lifts, over 300 slopes and hotel, lodge and Chalet accommodations. Vail, although smaller than Aspen, offers elegance and pristine powder. Vail hosts 32 lifts and 193 slopes that accommodate beginners and experts alike and the tree lined streets offer a host of boutiques, bars and restaurants.

One of the unique ski resorts in the world is the indoor slopes of Dubai. In the midst of the desert where temperatures can reach 110 degrees, the Dubai ski resort has five runs with the longest being 400 meters long. There is a 90-meter quarter pipe for snowboarders and a 300 square meter snow park for the whole family.

Located in the Indian Ocean, off the east coast of Africa, are a group of 115 islands called the Seychelles. It is one of the world’s last frontiers. Here visitors can find breathtaking natural beauty that remains untouched by man. If you are making travel plans for this area, you can get more information about Seychelles holidays online.

This is certainly a place where the climate is always warm and there are no extremes. The most remote, southern islands are situated outside the cyclone belt so it is a favorite of sun worshipers and those who love the beach. Visiting these islands during the months between October and March, you will find a calm sea and humid weather with the trade winds blowing from 8-12 knots.

January and February are the rainy months that will replenish the rivers and cause the foliage to bloom in all colors of the rainbow. May through September offers cooler weather and livelier seas. The first settlers to these islands came in 1770 which were the French and by 1814, Seychelles was ceded to Britain under the treaty of Paris. In 1993, these islands saw the first multiparty presidential elections. President Rene transferred his position to president Michel in 2004.

Giants Causeway is one of the great things to see in County Antrim in Northern Ireland is referred to as the 8th wonder of the world It is believed the causeway resulted from volcanic eruptions leaving numerous hexagonal columns on the shoreline. Composed of basalt, the columns were declared a World Heritage Site in 1986 and added to the UK’s National Natural Preserve list in 1987. The columns some of which are 36′ tall are naturally interlocked together.

According to legend, the causeway was intended to serve as a pathway to Scotland for the Irish warriors. A similar formation known as Fingal’s Cave can be found in Scotland. Over a period of 50 to 60 million years, the activity of the wind and water resulted in some interesting objects waiting to be discovered by visitors as they make their way along the causeway. Two interesting objects are a gigantic rock boot and free-standing chimneys. The causeway serves as a home for many sea birds such as the cormorant and rare plants and orchids such as the frog orchid.

The causeway area offers a mecca for history lovers especially those fond of castles. Carrickfergus Castle dates back to 1177 built by John de Couray as a military headquarters. The castle’s use in a military activity spans 800 years culminating with World War I. Carrickfergus Castle also served as a military prison in the 18th century.

Dunlace Castle dating back to around 1200BC holds much interest for history buffs. The castle was captured by the Scottish Chieftain, Sorley Boy Mac Donnell. Later by orders of Queen Elizabeth I, Sir John Perrott regained control of the castle only to have his control usurped by Sorley Boy who later swore allegiance to England.

The world’s oldest legal distillery of Irish whiskey is located in the causeway area. Old Bushmill’s Distillery was chartered in 1608. Another interesting attraction is Patterson’s Spade Mill. This is the last water powered mill known to exist in Ireland. Visitors are treated to a demonstration of how spades are made from forged iron that is then hammered into traditional spade shapes.

Carrickfergus Gas Works Museum produced gas for the castle for over 100 years. This museum is the site of the last coal gas works in existence. The museum houses an interesting display of gas appliances

Tenerife has in recent years become well known for stag and hen parties where the aim seems to be who can drink the most. There is however a completely different side to Tenerife that the lucky few have found and enjoyed. It is in recent years that a wide range of people have discovered the true delights that Tenerife has to offer.

Tenerife is the largest and most popular of the seven Canary Islands with a number of attractions for all. Of course there are drinking holidays that come to the island with people sunbathing during the day and drinking at night but there is a lot more. For example in the middle there is a country park. There is also scuba diving, dolphin watching and a number of wonderful trails to run or walk and much more. This gives everyone no matter what their age or interests something to do on the island.

So if you are looking for a holiday where you can do almost anything then think of Tenerife. It has something for everyone and with the introduction of budget airlines you can get there for less than some homeland holidays. With the weather being much better Tenerife has become a top holiday destination.

Located within Aggtelek National Park, the Baradla Cave is part of the largest cave system located in Central Eastern Europe. The Aggtelek National Park roughly covers an area of 78 sq. miles on the Slovak-Hungarian border with portions of the Baradla Caves divided between the two countries.

About 4 miles are in the Slovak region and the other approximate 9 miles located in Hungary. This division between the two countries is evident in the caverns with the remains of the fencing that once divided them. Over time these caves have become a big tourist draw for many who visit Hungary.

Found within the great caves one can find dripstones that reach 30 meters high and 55 meters wide with lengths as big as 125 meters. There are a number of tours available for visitors to enjoy that last roughly an hour but with prior arrangements it may be possible for some to get more extended tours.

The draw of visitors to the caverns started with a visit by the Palatine Joseph back in the early 1800’s and has resulted over time in its entry on the UNESCO World Heritage List in the mid 1990’s. The immense sizes of two entrances have become useful in housing musical performances regularly for the past many years. There is fossilized bone evidence that two of the entrance sections of the caves were frequently visited by prehistoric man. This is very possible considering that the limestone within the cave shows that it has been around since the Triassic period.

The immense and spectacular beauty of the stalagmites and stalactites that adorn these caves has been such a major draw to tourists that an array of lighting has been brought in to illuminate the caverns so tourist can enjoy the intriguing array of colors and shapes that are seen in these great structures. Leslie at allpro

Uganda is increasingly becoming a more and more popular holiday hot spot and is one of the most sought after African holiday destinations, especially for African safaris. Uganda is very much like a condensed version of Africa itself and offers the very best of Africa all packed in to this small and beautiful country. In Uganda you will also find one of the warmest welcomes on the continent and tourists are welcomed with open arms and a smiling ‘Hello Mzungu!’

In Uganda you will find the highest mountain range on the continent, the Mountains of the Moon, the source of the mighty river Nile and one of the finest national parks in Africa, the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is home to some of the finest Gorilla safaris.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, or the Impenetrable Forest as it is sometimes known, is home to half the world population of mountain gorillas, some 340 of them. As the name suggests the Impenetrable Forest is a tough place to visit with steep terrain and thick foliage but once you have made it through you are greeted with an amazing reward. The sight of your first mountain gorilla in the wild will stay with you forever and will become one of your most treasured memories. The chance to see mountain gorillas in their natural habitat is a world away from any zoo and drive through safari park; here you are a very special guest in their world.

For your best chance to make it through the Impenetrable Forest to see these amazing creatures you should take a Uganda safari. On an organized safari you will trek along the right paths and be given the best opportunity to catch a glimpse of these majestic creatures in their own environment while being shown through the forest by experienced guides.

It’s not just gorillas that call Bwindi Impenetrable National Park home, in the park you can find over 120 different species of mammal, 346 species of birds, 163 species of trees and 202 species of butterflies, many of which can be pointed out to you by safari guides. Some of the other 11 primates to look out for in the forest include colobus monkeys and chimpanzees.

Go and experience Uganda now before even more people discover the delights it has to offer.

Some people have a bad idea of Russia. Sure enough, the country has its problems, but they aren’t very different from any major Western country. And there are several factors that make Russia an incredible country. And because of the bias that many people have against it, based on old stereotypes and even older fears, some parts of the country are relatively undiscovered and certainly unspoiled by large flocks of tourists running around. And when it comes to Russian landscapes and historical landmarks, nothing can compare or compete, in my opinion, to the best of Russia’s calling cards: the Volga River.

A defining landmark in the geographical landscape of that huge country, the Volga River is the largest river in Europe. It played an enormous role in shaping the face of Russia and of the whole continent. And nowadays it’s sailable almost to its entire extent. And there are some excellent Volga river cruises that you can go on and feel its magic by yourself. There’s nothing like the experience of falling asleep on a cruise in the Volga, bathed by the lights of a nearby city, and waking up to breakfast overlooking the amazing landscapes by its banks or the wonderful palaces that line its course.

Brixham has always had a very close relationship with the navy and is ideal for anyone with an interest in its history. Thousands of people every year go on Devon Short Breaks to immerse themselves in Brixham’s rich naval cultural surroundings.

Back in 1588, Brixham’s coastline was the scene for the battle between Sir Francis Drake and the Spanish Armada. In keeping with their naval links a replica of his ship is moored within the harbour for visitors to explore. During your break in South Devon why not walk the same gangplanks as many famous naval pioneers such as Admiral Nelson or Hawke.

The Battery Gardens are another feature of Brixham’s rich naval history. The now peaceful and quiet area boasts beautiful scenic views across the south Devon coastline and has been listed by English heritage as a scheduled monument.

Even Prince William of Orange couldn’t resist Brixham’s charms when he landed in Brixham in 1688 just before marching through the city of Exeter and then onto London. He later went on to be crowned King William the third.

Even if you don’t have a keen interest in naval history, Brixham has something for everyone to keep them amused on their South Devon Breaks with glorious coastlines, fabulous independent shops selling select items, to the harbour where a great selection of stalls will greet you and offer fresh seafood like mussels, cockles and prawns. There is a lovely selection of pubs and restaurants to try each evening along with shows at local theatres and during the summer holidays some great days out for the whole family.
